The Favour of God

The Favour Of God Series | FrontierWorks

A long time ago I was in a church prayer room with several others, and someone began declaring the favour of God over another person in the group. I didn’t find this unusual, as I’d heard similar declarations before. But this particular instance stuck with me.

Why? Because I didn’t really get it.

I think my understanding of the word favour has been incorrect, or at the very least, biased when it comes to giving context to this gift from God. The Christian circles I was a part of for decades seemed to view favour with a sense of entitlement, as an advantage or convenience that God was expected to dish out when required. How very presumptuous.

“Yet through his powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away his righteousness. His gift of love and favour now cascades over us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One, has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin!” – Romans 3:24 (TPT)

God’s favour is a gift. A legacy. A privilege. A demonstration of His love.

God’s favour is not a magic trick to pull out when life is hard or when we get ourselves into troubles of our own making, but His favour is there to see us through those difficult situations. He can present opportunities, open doors, give us solutions, and provide assistance in ways we would never have considered.

Be aware of God’s Presence. Focus on what He has given and done for you – YOU, not someone else. You will see His favour unfold around you and in you and through you.
