Yesterday was sort of a thinking day. You know, the kind of day where you take time to gather your thoughts and sort them out while injecting new ones here and there. I don’t know about you, but I need those days on a regular basis.
After the thinking, I decided to brush the dust off The Bond of Seven. Imagine my surprise when I opened the most recent draft and realized that the last time I worked on it was in August 2012. Shame on me. So I got busy on some rework in Chapter One.
And it felt good. Really good.
I don’t have a totally clear direction to the end as yet and there are a lot of puzzle pieces missing for this amazing story. But some of the major components have dropped into place. That is huge.
My grandchildren will be happy to hear that The Bond is once again underway. They have been patiently waiting to read about the next adventure on their journey to destroy the evil queen, Meytris. What misfortunes will befall them along the way? Will Emily escape from The Bleak? Does Caleb lose his ability to read The Book? How will Breckan find the Seven and their traveling companions in their time of need?
It all remains to be seen.
The most important thing is that the work is progressing, albeit slowly at the moment. I am confident that the momentum will build and I’ll be sailing along in no time. Besides, I’m curious myself as to what’s going to happen next!
