No doubt about it. The world has changed. We live in a day of terror alerts, metal detectors, security threats, economic uncertainty, and suicide bombers. We let our kids walk out the door to school never certain of what they might face during the course of the day. Our job, retirement, and even our personal safety seems to be on shaky ground. A threatening society, don’t you think?
Makes you want to pack up your family and all your stuff and move out to a log cabin in the wilderness, away from everything.
We can’t escape. Jesus knew we would live in troubled times, but He promised to give us strength to face whatever the world throws our way. He said so in John 16:33. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
So in this rapidly changing world, have faith, take heart and be of good cheer. Trust God. Pray without ceasing. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, has overcome the world!
