Mushroom Canapes

I think this is the first time I’ve ever posted a recipe here. That’s because this isn’t a recipe blog – and because I really don’t cook much. But yesterday a friend gave me the recipe for an easy-peasy appetizer that is absolutely delicious and is a must have for your next entertaining event. Or just make them for yourself.

I tried to find a picture for this recipe and the one you see isn’t it. But it’s close.

Mushroom Canapes
1/2 pound sausage meat
1/4 cup chopped green onions
3/4 cup light salad dressing or mayonnaise
24 baguette slices
24 fresh mushroom sliced
2 cups grated medium cheddar cheese
paprika

Directions:
Scramble fry sausage meat in nonstick frying pan. Drain well. Add green onions and salad dressing. Stir. Spread 1 tbsp of sausage mixture on baguette slice. Divide mushroom slices evenly over sausage mixture. Sprinkle generous 1 tbsp of cheese on mushroom slices. Sprinkle each canape with paprika (i didnt do this part). Arrange on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350F for 20 min. Makes 24 canapes.

Enjoy!
