Did you ever stop to think about the fact that you always have a choice? I mean, really think about it. You’ve got the red pill and the blue pill – you get to decide which one to take. (If you have never seen The Matrix you will have no idea what I’m talking about. Doesn’t matter.)
We recently met with an old friend over coffee. During the course of the conversation, we could sense the overwhelming hopelessness that had engulfed our friend. He was at a point where he felt there were no choices – that he simply had to accept the decisions made by others concerning his life. He had given up.
Sometimes it seems like there is no choice because the only option is something we don’t want. It’s easier to let it happen than it is to stand up and fight.
But you always have the power to decide how you will deal with whatever comes your way. You can give up and let life happen (which doesn’t honor God, by the way), or you can get over yourself and make life happen. Big difference.
The choice is always there. The red pill or the blue – life or death. It’s up to you.
Isn’t it strange? Who would consciously choose death? But we do, every single day, we choose the wrong pill. Wonder why…
love the update. Very very cool. Loved that first matrix movie. So true. Love that you could be with this friend and help him remember that he does have two pills to choose from, not just one.
