The day after Mother’s Day . . .
We celebrated with a barbecue supper at my Mom’s house.
All of us.
The whole family.
29 people.
You know the drill. Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, green salad, fruit salad. Black Forest cake and cheesecake for dessert. Let’s just say everyone got enough to eat and then some.
Lots of noise, kids playing in the grass, jokes and laughter among us all.
By the time we left at 10:00 pm I think I’d hugged everyone at least once, heard and said dozens of “I love you’s”, and made several tentative coffee dates with various family members.
A good day.
A very good day.
Awww, where’s my tentative coffee date? I want one! But I do agree – a great day! Long, but really good!
What a wonderful way to spend a day! Good for you, my friend. Your celebration sounds lovely.
