It’s November.
For most people, this is no big deal. For writers, it is a very big deal. November is National Novel Writing Month – or NaNo, for short. Some weird and crazy side of my brain has convinced me to attempt the amazing feat of writing a 50,000 word novel in the 30 days of November yet again. This is the challenge of NaNo. And it is the third year in a row that I am doing this. There is a bit of motivation in the competition element, since two of my daughters are also in on the word count frenzy. I think Julie is winning today. She usually does. I should have 10,000 words written by the end of today and I’m definitely not there. We’ll see where this goes.
